As our beloved Springfield Public Schools,
along with amazing schools across the country, embark on a new school year full of belief and promise, I offer my most heartfelt wishes for a wonderful year.
I also write with profound appreciation.
For all of you.
Educators and Volunteers.
Students and Families.
Community and business partners.
Civic leaders.
And beyond.
All of you.
Every one of you.
Who bring life to education.
Who bring education to life.
I am witness.
To your greatness.

For almost twenty years I have proudly served as the School Counselor for Elias Brookings Elementary School in our special Springfield Public Schools.
And I have loved every minute.
Even the most challenging ones.
Springfield Public Schools.
Especially Brookings.
Is my family.
My home away from home.
My heart.
And forever will be.
This love is because I serve with amazing educators in every role, wonderful children and families, and awesome community partners.
I serve.
And stand.
And am eternally inspired.
By all of you.
Truly.
Every day.
In school.
Or out.
Provided a laugh or smile.
Hug or high five.
Challenge or little victory.
Whisper of belief.
And echo of hope.
All gifts to my heart.
And moments and memories I will cherish.
My school family, and children and families.
And you all in our community.
Touched my heart and my life.
In a special way.
Individually, each of you is remarkable.
Collectively, together you are pure awesome.
I am truly grateful.
With your inspiration.
My heart is now leading me to advocate for and support schools and communities in a new way.
So with all the emotions you can imagine.
Wrapped up in twenty years of a life and service devoted to love and togetherness.
In a world full of beautiful humans.
I have retired my position as School Counselor.
This decision.
Though right.
Was.
Is.
Incredibly emotional.
My heart.
Is stretched.
My solace.
Reflection on.
And pride in.
The love.
And appreciation.
And pure awesomeness.
That are the hallmarks of Brookings.
My peace.
Belief in.
And excitement for.
The brilliance.
And beauty.
And rise and shine.
Of Brookings journey.
Forward.
Please know.
I am leaving the role of a School Counselor.
I am not leaving the heart of a School Counselor.
My purpose.
Helping others help others.
Is deeply nestled in that heart.
And will.
Forever remain.
My footsteps may not echo every day in Brookings.
Or visiting the halls of downtown.
But my spirit is there.
And will continue to guide me.
In bringing community and schools together.
For the good of all our precious children and families.
And.
For the good.
Of each other.
Springfield Public Schools, especially Brookings,
and you all in our community, helped raise me into the dedicated and purpose filled person I am today.
I am eternally grateful for your presence in my life.
And for the horizon.
Of our new beginnings.
Together.
